1. About Us

Surrey Bike Repair Co. is a sole trader business providing mobile bicycle repair services and pre-arranged collection, return, and drop-off services. We do not operate a customer walk-in workshop or retail premises. All home workshop visits and bicycle drop-offs are strictly by prior appointment only.

2. Services

We provide bicycle repairs, servicing, and maintenance via pre-arranged collection and return

All services are subject to inspection of the bicycle.

• Quotes are estimates based on initial information

• Additional faults may be identified during repair

• We will seek approval before carrying out extra work

3. Bookings

All services must be booked in advance.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate details about your bicycle and issue

• Be available at the agreed time/location (for mobile services)

• Ensure safe and reasonable access to the bicycle

Missed appointments may be charged.

4. Collection & Delivery

For collection services:

• A mutually agreed time window will be arranged

• Someone must be available to hand over and receive the bicycle unless otherwise agreed

• Risk transfers back to you upon delivery

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our control.

5. Payment

• Initial payment is made online before collection

• Payment is due for any additional works before completion unless agreed otherwise

• We accept online payment methods

• We reserve the right to retain the bicycle until payment is received

6. Cancellations

• At least 24 hours notice is required for cancellations

• Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee

7. Liability

We take reasonable care when handling your bicycle. However:

• We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage or faults

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Failure of components not replaced or serviced

• Safety-related recommendations will be communicated — refusal of recommended repairs is at your own risk

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the cost of the service provided

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

8. Customer Responsibilities

You agree that:

• The bicycle is legally owned by you or you have permission to authorise repairs

• The bicycle is safe to transport

• You will follow safety advice given after servicing

9. Uncollected Bicycles

Where a bicycle is not accepted back or collected (if applicable) within a reasonable time:

• Storage fees may apply

• After [30 days] and reasonable notice, we reserve the right to dispose of the bicycle to recover costs

10. Website Use

• Website content is for general information only

• You must not misuse or attempt to disrupt the website

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance.

Refurbished Bicycle Warranty

At Surrey Bike Repair Co., every refurbished bicycle undergoes a comprehensive safety inspection and road test before being offered for sale.

60-Day Workmanship Warranty

All refurbished bicycles sold by Surrey Bike Repair Co. include a 60-day warranty from the date of purchase covering:

• Workmanship carried out during refurbishment.

• Replacement parts fitted by Surrey Bike Repair Co. that fail due to manufacturing defects.

• Mechanical faults directly related to the refurbishment process.

If a covered fault occurs during the warranty period, we will inspect the bicycle and, where appropriate, repair or replace the defective part at no additional cost.

This warranty does not cover

• Normal wear and tear.

• Punctures.

• Brake pad, tyre, chain or cable wear through normal use.

• Damage caused by accidents, crashes or impact.

• Corrosion or weather damage.

• Incorrect assembly or repairs carried out by anyone other than Surrey Bike Repair Co.

• Misuse, neglect or failure to maintain the bicycle.

• Damage caused by riding beyond the bicycle's intended use.

Customer Responsibilities

The owner should:

• Regularly check tyre pressures.

• Keep the chain clean and lubricated.

• Inspect brakes before riding.

• Return the bicycle if any safety-related issue develops.

• Arrange routine servicing at appropriate intervals.

Safety

Every refurbished bicycle is supplied with a signed Bike Safety Inspection Certificate confirming that the bicycle met our safety inspection standards on the date of sale.

Your Consumer Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which are not affected by this warranty.
